Join us at the World Museum of Natural History for a special celebration honoring one of the world’s most unique (and misunderstood!) mammals—pangolins
Known as “scaly anteaters,” pangolins are the only mammals covered in keratin scales that protect them when they feel threatened. As expert insect-eaters, they can consume thousands of ants and termites in a single night. This makes them a keystone species, helping regulate insect populations that might otherwise damage forests, grasslands, and agricultural areas.
But these remarkable animals need our help. Pangolins are among the most endangered mammals in the world, threatened by habitat loss and illegal wildlife trade. In fact, they are considered the most trafficked mammals, making awareness and education more important than ever.
📽️ What’s Happening:
Hands-on crafts for all ages
A documentary about pangolins (Ages 13+)
A presentation highlighting pangolin biology, conservation, and how you can help
